Duffy Bishop: Guestbook

Suzanne (Snedeker) Brown

May 11, 2008

Hey, Chris, this is your cousin Suzy in Orlando. I just got off the phone with Aunt Ruthie - I always knew that you and Duffy were in music but I had no idea that you were such a big deal. That's great!!! See that you perform in New Orleans sometimes,
I've been to JazzFest a couple of times. Love blues.. If you ever come over this way (although Orlando is not much into blues, only tourists (blah!!), let me know..

Hi Patti aka "Duffy" and Chris,

It was so great to see you both at Halibut's. You sound better and better than ever as always.

I am sending you this note with our little chat about having you both over for dinner sometime. Just let me know when you have a free night. We're pretty flexible. Would love to have a proper visit with you both and treat you to dinner at our house.

Hope all is well and happy!
You both look great.

I lived in Seattle in the early 90s, like 90-93 i had taken my son to a show there at the key arena and duffy had worn a crazy hat that had fruit on it or some sort of cabana style. my son who is now 19, was 2 or 3 at the time remembers this and he had the cd we have from the show until recently and he has asked me to try to find it for him to replace it. i don't know what this cd would be called from this time could you help me out?

Hey Duffy! It's good to see you're still out there singing. My cousin, Tony, and I used to come to watch you play at Doc Maynard's back in the mid '80's just about every Friday night. In fact, I met my wife at the Owl Cafe in Ballard when you played there one summer night in '88. Yes, we're still going strong. Hopefully we will get a chance to see play again if you are ever down in the Olympia area. You sang 'Tied to the Whippin' Post' better than the original. Take care!

As you can tell, I'm on the net now. It's about time. I've been trying to get ahold of you before you take off, but that is in November, right?

I am hoping that you will add my site to yours soon and that we will help each other by that.

DUFFY! It's a sunny afternoon here in Vancouver, BC and I am listening to you singing your heart out to me on a CD my friend up in Alaska sent me...He does a show called Rollin' with the Blues on Public Radio in Kodiak. It just took me back to the Eastlake Zoo in the 80's when Andy and I walked in and you were so gracious to let me up on stage with you and sing When A Man loves A Woman.
I think the last time I saw you, was at Karen and Judy's wedding and you weren't feeling well...I love you and I miss you. I'm starting a new band up here in Vancouver, with a bass player who played with Andy and me years ago, and it's (of course) going to be a CRAZY Blues band! I sure would love to hear from you and catch up!!! Love you and Chris!

We wanted to tell you what a joy it was to meet all of you and finally have the chance to see you perform. HOLY MOLY! What a superb show, and what a powerhouse of talent! As for you, Ms.Duffy, one of Koko Taylor's album titles suits you perfectly- a FORCE OF NATURE! To be such a dynamo, and such a sweet lady at the same time, is sadly a rarity in the entertainment world. I'll treasure your kindness, and we are all singing praises of the band to anyone interested in musical finesse. God Bless, and keep knocking their socks off!

It was great seeing you all at Terrapin Station in Boise. As usual the band was tight and you and Chris have such great chemistry on stage. The pipes are golden as usual. Did appreciate being asked to get up and sing one but it's just a policy I have. I won't share my hard-earned stage time unless it's a VERY SPECIAL occasion so I make it a point to not take anyone else's stage time. I'm just funny that way I guess. But it was nice that Ken and Carmel got up to do one...anyway, you all take care and have a blast at Waterfront. Wish I could go! Love you guys, Nancy
